One-Day Closure Will Occur West of Campus Entrance on Hilltop Road

(April 24, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close a section of MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County for about six hours on Wednesday, April 26. The closure, just west of the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus entrance at Hilltop Road, will allow BGE to perform utility work in the area.

On Wednesday, BGE crews will work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During these hours, Wilkens Avenue will be closed between the Hilltop Road roundabout and MD 166 (S. Rolling Road). Travelers will be directed to a temporary detour route around the Rolling Road Golf Club using Rolling Road, Valley Road and Hilltop Road. Residents of Rambling Drive and Knollview Court will have local access.

In the event of inclement weather, the work and closure will take place Friday, April 28. Customers with questions about the BGE utility work or BGE service may contact BGE Customer Support or call 1-800-685-0123 (residential) or 1-800-265-6177 (business).

The State Highway Administration and BGE understand the temporary road closure and detour may inconvenience some travelers. Motorists are asked to stay alert and be patient as they pass through the detour route.
