Motorists Should Use Alternative Route; Closure Before MD 17/Myersville Exit

(March 7, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is making emergency repairs to the bridge over Catoctin Creek on westbound I-70 just before Exit 42 to MD 17 in Myersville. The right lane and shoulder are closed as crews repair a puncture in the bridge deck (driving surface).

The emergency repair requires an extended lane closure. The State Highway Administration expects work to continue through the evening commute. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route, such as US 40, if possible.
