For Two Nights This Month, Motorists Can Expect Temporary Ramp Closures/Detours
(May 20, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close and detour the ramp from northbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway Inner Loop) to westbound MD 122 overnight for two nights this month. On Thursday night, May 22 and Wednesday night, May 28, crews will close the ramp between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. All work is weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists traveling from northbound I-695 to westbound MD 122 will be directed to use the ramp to eastbound I-70, proceed towards the Park and Ride lot, make a U-turn onto westbound I-70 and immediately turn right on MD 122 towards Baltimore County.
The ramp work is part of a $187,000 guardrail project along MD 122 between Rolling Road and Whitehead Road that began in April. It is also part of a $6.1 million areawide State Highway Administration contract to install new guardrails and upgrade existing guardrails where needed along State highways in Baltimore and Harford counties. The contractor for the guardrail work is Concrete General, Inc of Gaithersburg. All work is expected to be completed by late spring, weather permitting.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
