Overnight Large Moves Will Require Temporary Road Closures

(June 5, 2025) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will assist a private transport company with road closures for the movement of five oversized natural gas tanks along US 113 (Worcester Highway) in Worcester County in the coming weeks.

Beginning around midnight on Monday, June 9; Wednesday, June 11; Friday, June 13; Monday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 18; crews will temporarily close north and southbound US 113 between MD 367 (Bishopville Road) and Kepler Lane to accommodate these moves and will re-open the roadway by 5 a.m. each morning. All work is weather permitting.

State Highway Administration maintenance crews, along with the Maryland State Police, will be on hand to assist during these road closures.

The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, focused, and be aware of reduced speed limits and changing driving patterns in the work zone. Slow down and move in work zones. It’s the law.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
