Motorists Will be Guided Along Signed Detours

(July 17, 2025) – The Maryland State Highway Administration will implement nighttime lane closures along MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) at the MD 175 (Annapolis Road) bridge to set steel beams in Anne Arundel County next week. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes such as I-97, MD 3, US 1 or US 29 to avoid delays.

Crews will work during the following dates and times:

  • Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (complete northbound MD 295 closure with a signed detour; left lane closure along southbound MD 295)
  • Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (complete southbound MD 295 closure with a signed detour)

All lanes and interchange ramps will reopen no later than 5 a.m. the following morning.

This work is part of the MD 175 / MD 295 Interchange Reconstruction Project to enhance safety and operations along the MD 175 corridor.

Portable variable message signs are in place advising of the upcoming work. Work dates are subject to change and all work is weather permitting.

Drivers are reminded to remain alert when approaching the work zone and to remain alert for the changing traffic pattern. Customers who have questions about this work may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 1-800-331-5603. The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
