Crews to Perform Overnight Lighting Repairs; Drivers will be Directed to Use Signed Detour

(November 3, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close two ramps at the MD 175 (Annapolis Road) / MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) interchange in Anne Arundel County for lighting repairs starting at 9 p.m. Thursday night, November 6. Work will be completed no later than 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.

State highway maintenance crews will close the following two ramps:

  • Westbound MD 175 ramp to westbound MD 32
  • Westbound and eastbound MD 175 ramps to eastbound MD 32

Crews will use portable variable message signs and temporary traffic signs to guide drivers along a signed detour, using MD 175 and MD 170 (Telegraph Road) to connect drivers back to MD 32. The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.

Drivers need to stay alert, avoid distractions and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Customers may contact the District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 1-800-331-5603 with any questions about the maintenance work.

he State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety and asks drivers to slow down and move over, if possible, in work zones and pay extra attention to pedestrians and bicyclists. Keeping drivers, their passengers and vulnerable highway users safe is our top priority.
