A Series of Traffic Slowdowns and Rolling Roadblocks will Occur on I-68 East Between MD 36 (New Georges Creek Road) and MD 658 (Vocke Road)
(December 12, 2025) – The Maryland State Highway Administration will have a series of rolling roadblocks on I-68 east (National Freeway) between MD 36 and MD 658 to allow crews to clear debris as part of a slope stabilization project on I-68. This work will take place beginning Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The State Highway Administration’s construction partner, First Fruits of Ridgeley, WV., will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to notify motorists about the work zone and lane closure. Crews will be scaling to remove debris and stabilize the slope in that area.
Motorists are encouraged to stay alert, slow down and focus on driving safely through the work zone. Please allow additional time for your commute.
