Public Invited to Learn About Moore-Miller Administration Project and Provide Feedback
(October 8, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will host a public open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School located at 1799 Schifferstadt Blvd. in Frederick, to share information and receive feedback on the upcoming project to improve traffic operations and safety along US 15 (Jefferson National Pike) and US 40 (Frederick Freeway) from I-70 (Eisenhower Memorial Highway) to MD 26 (Liberty Road) in Frederick County.
The purpose of the project is to improve safety, reduce congestion and enhance traffic flow. The project, a priority of the Moore-Miller Administration, is currently in the design phase, with construction anticipated to start in late 2027.
The public open house is an opportunity for residents, businesses and commuters to learn more about the project and view the design details. Attendees may arrive any time during the open house to view maps and displays, speak with State Highway Administration representatives and provide feedback. There will be no formal presentation. Project materials will be available on the US 15/US 40 Project Portal page after the open house.
