WHAT:

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is hosting an informational meeting about an upcoming interchange project at MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) and Linden Church Road, west of Clarksville in Howard County.

WHEN:

Thursday, June 28 between 6 and 8 p.m. (Presentation at 6:15 p.m.)

WHERE:

Dayton Oaks Elementary School – Cafeteria
4691 Ten Oaks Road, Dayton, MD 21036

WHY:

SHA will begin construction in mid-July of a new interchange at MD 32 and Linden Church Road. Funded by Howard County, the project will alleviate traffic and safety issues along the MD 32 corridor by replacing the two intersections at West Linden Church Road and Greenberry Lane with a full-diamond interchange. The interchange design includes a bridge over MD 32 and reconfiguration of parts of Linden Church Road, Ten Oaks Road and Greenberry Lane. (A concept diagram is attached.)

Weather permitting, the project will be complete fall 2013. During construction, temporary detours will be required for access to and from the intersecting roads. In addition, Ten Oaks Road will be closed for a short period and bicycle traffic will be detoured during part of the project.

SHA’s engineering team will give a brief project presentation and attendees will have an opportunity to view displays of the design, stages of construction and project schedule. SHA representatives will be available to answer questions.
