(June 20, 2012) – Weather permitting, on Thursday morning, June 28 the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the ramp from eastbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway/Philadelphia Boulevard) to southbound MD 715 (Short Lane) for approximately one year.

A detour will direct drivers traveling on eastbound US 40  toward the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) – Maryland Gate and local businesses on MD 715 to stay left on eastbound US 40 and use a new temporary traffic signal to make a left turn across westbound US 40 and onto a temporary interchange ramp connection to southbound MD 715. 

This ramp closure is part of SHA’s $17.8 million project to improve the US 40/MD 715 interchange in conjunction with the federal and state Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) program at APG.  The ramp closure and detour will allow crews to relocate and widen the ramp from one to three lanes and provide a new spur movement from that ramp to northbound MD 715.
