(January 25, 2013) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) advises motorists that, weather permitting, crews will temporarily stop traffic on US 15 near the Motter Avenue exit for approximately 15 to 20 minute intervals on Tuesday night, January 29, to install a pedestrian bridge over US 15. These temporary closures will occur between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday, January 30. Motorists traveling during these hours should plan for possible delays.

The temporary, prefabricated pedestrian bridge will provide a safe crossing for bicyclists and pedestrians during construction on the Motter Avenue bridge over US 15 over the next two years. Weather permitting, the temporary pedestrian bridge will open by spring.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
