(June 4, 2013) – Today the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) unveiled a new highway sign on MD 97 in recognition of former State Senator Leonard Teitelbaum’s 20-year legislative career in Annapolis. The Montgomery County legislator, who retired in 2007, was presented with a replica of the highway sign at a ceremony at Leisure World in Silver Spring.

In attendance were Attorney General Doug Gansler, State Senator Roger Manno and MDOT Acting Secretary Darrell B. Mobley who all praised Teitelbaum for his work on behalf of health issues, consumer protection and transportation. The ceremony was held in the Club House of Leisure World where Teitelbaum and his wife reside.

The highway sign is located in Silver Spring on MD 97 (Georgia Avenue).
