Allegany County

• On-ramp to westbound I-68 at Lee Street in Cumberland – ramp closed through fall 2014 due to bridge rehabilitation. Click here for more details.

Anne Arundel County

• MD 648 (Baltimore-Washington Boulevard) between MD 10 (Arundel Expressway) and MD 2 (Ritchie Highway)Resurfacing – Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.  Click here for more information.

• Northbound MD 2 between US 50 and Robinson Road Resurfacing – Single lane closures Sunday nights through Friday mornings, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Baltimore County
 
• Outer loop I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) between MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) and MD 7 (Philadelphia Road)Resurfacing - Single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. 

• Inner loop I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) at MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue)Bridge replacement project – Sundays through Thursdays-multiple lane closures for paving. Closure schedule as follows: one lane at 7 p.m., two lanes at 8 p.m. and triple lane closures at 11 p.m.  All lanes re-open by 5 a.m. each morning.

• I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) between MD 122 (Security Boulevard) and MD 26 (Liberty Road)Resurfacing - Single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.  Click here for more project information.

• MD 26 (Liberty Road) between the Baltimore City line and I-695 (Baltimore Beltway)Resurfacing - single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. Click here for information about the overall resurfacing project.

• Middletown Road Bridge over I-83 (Baltimore-Harrisburg Expressway) - Bridge rehabilitation project - daily single lane closures possible on northbound and southbound I-83 Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ***Traffic switch on Middletown Road on Sunday, September 8 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday. Expect single lane closures on Middletown Road within the work time frame. ***

Cecil County

• US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between Big Elk Creek Bridge and the Delaware State Line Resurfacing – single lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Harford County

• Loflin Road at MD 7 (Old Philadelphia Road) - Water line relocation - Temporary road closure is underway. Motorists are being detoured to westbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway).  Click here for more information.

Howard County

• I-95 between MD 32 and MD 216 Resurfacing – Single and double lane closures 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.  Click here for more information.  NOTE- SHA will close the right lane on southbound I-95 between MD 32 and MD 216 on Friday, September 6 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 7.

• MD 216 (Scaggsville Road) at US 29 (Columbia Pike) – Interchange resurfacing – single lane closures Sunday through Thursdays from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.  Click here for information.

• MD 216 (Scaggsville Road) between MD 108 (Clarksville Pike) to US 29 (Columbia Pike)Line striping - Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8 from 3 a.m. until 10 a.m.

 US 1 (Washington Boulevard) between the Prince George’s County line to Whiskey Bottom Road Line striping – Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8 from 3 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Frederick County

 I-70 over South Street Bridge replacement project – South Street under the I-70 bridges will closed for reconstruction beginning Friday, September 6 at 9 p.m. and will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday, September 9.  Posted detours will be in effect.

 I-70 at the US 15/US 340/I-270 interchange Resurfacing – right lane to close on EB I-70 at 8 p.m. Sunday, September 8 until 5 a.m. Monday, September 9.

Montgomery County

 I-495 (Capital Beltway) over the Potomac River (The American Legion Bridge) Routine bridge inspection – single right lane closures on the inner and outer loop of I-495 on Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8 from 6 a.m. until 12 noon.

• MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) at Sligo Creek Parkway- Bridge deck rehabilitation – possible single and double lane closures on Mondays through Fridays between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., as well as overnight Sundays through Saturdays 7 p.m. to  5 a.m. Click here for more information.

• MD 193 Bridge over I-495 (Capital Beltway)Bridge rehabilitation – The traffic is shifted on the bridge to facilitate construction while maintaining traffic flow. Click here for more information on the rehabilitation project.

• I-495 over Macarthur BoulevardRoutine bridge inspection – Single right lane closure on the outer loop I-495 on Saturday, September 7 from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Crews will work on the inner loop I-495 on Sunday, September 8 from 5 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

• MD 97 (Georgia Avenue) between the Washington D.C. line and MD 390 (16th Street)Resurfacing –Single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.  Click here for more information.

• MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) from the Capital Beltway to Manor RoadResurfacing – possible alternating single and double, right and left, lane closures on northbound and southbound MD 185 Sundays through Thursdays 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• MD 355 (Rockville Pike) between the Washington D.C. line to MD 191 (Bradley Boulevard)Resurfacing – single and double right lane closures possible on southbound MD 355 Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Click here for more information.

• MD 355 (Rockville Pike) from Nicholson Lane to MD 187 (Old Georgetown Road) - Road resurfacing - Possible single and double lane closures Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnights, Sunday through Monday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• MD 355 (Rockville Pike) between I-495 (Capital Beltway) to Jones Bridge RoadUtility relocation –single and double right lane closures possible on southbound MD 355 Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Prince George’s County

• I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) between D’arcy Road and Arena Drive - Resurfacing—single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Click here for more project information.

• Ramp from northbound US 301 (Crain Highway) to eastbound and westbound US 50 (John Hanson Highway) and the ramp from westbound US 50 to southbound US 301 - Ramp resurfacing - Total ramp closure from 6 a.m. Saturday, September 7 until Monday, September 9 at 5 a.m. Also - ramp from southbound US 301 (Crain Highway) to eastbound US 50 to close on Sunday, September 8 from 7 a.m. until Monday, September 9 at 5 a.m. Motorists should consider using MD 197 (Collington Road) to westbound US 50.  Click here for more information.

• MD 4 (Patuxent Beach Road) Bridge over the Patuxent River (Thomas Johnson Bridge)Bridge drain clearing – On Sunday, September 8 motorists should expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation between 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Somerset County

• Southbound US 13 (Ocean Highway) between Lisa Lane and the Pocomoke Bridge Resurfacing – single lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.  Click here for more information.

• US 11 (West Potomac Street) Bridge over the Potomac River Bridge Painting/minor repairs – single lane closures Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
 
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
