(October 22, 2013) – Motorists should be prepared for possible delays tomorrow on MD 77 (Rocky Ridge Road) near Frushour Road, east of Thurmont in Frederick County.

Work crews will control traffic with a flagging operation on MD 77 from 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, through 6 a.m. Thursday, October 24, for a State Highway Administration (SHA) project to clean and paint the MD 77 bridge over Owens Creek. The project is being completed as part of SHA’s $1.3 million areawide contract with Reglas Painting Company Inc. for cleaning and painting of 11 bridges in Frederick and Carroll counties.  The work is part of SHA’s preservation and safety plan for the State’s 2,500 bridges.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
