(December 17, 2013) – This Wednesday at 10 a.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will convert the flashing traffic signal on MD 26 (Liberty Road) at Exchange Drive in Eldersburg to full-color operation.

The traffic signal is at the entrance to Liberty Exchange, a new 40-acre business park developed by St. John’s Properties, Inc. for a mix of office, retail and flex space. The developer installed the signal in fall 2011 and it has been in flash mode since that time. Projected traffic volumes from the development warranted the switch to full-color activation.  The entire cost of the new traffic signal was paid for by the developer.

Electronic message signs have been placed along MD 26 informing drivers that the signal will begin operating in full color mode (green-yellow-red) on Wednesday, December 18. Motorists should use extra caution in the area over the next few weeks as drivers adjust to the new signal.
