(March 6, 2014) – Motorists should look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers as the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) closes three left lanes on the I-95/I-495 Outer Loop (northbound) between MD 5 (Branch Avenue, exit 7) and the Beltway bridge over Suitland Parkway. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. tonight (March 6).

The overnight closures will allow crews to perform concrete deck work on the bridge over Suitland Parkway. SHA expects the work to occur each weeknight through next Thursday (weather permitting). All lanes of traffic will reopen no later than 5 a.m. each day.

As crews work to keep work zones safe, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert –. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For Everyone.
