(September 15, 2014) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) continues its $3.6 million project to improve MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) from MD 151 (North Point Boulevard) to Diamond Point Road in Dundalk.  Beginning 9 a.m., September 16, Crews will close the ramp from northbound MD 151 (North Point Boulevard) to eastbound MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) for one week. The temporary ramp closure is necessary for SHA crews to replace the concrete curb and gutter and install new guardrail. Crews will reopen the ramp after one week, weather permitting.

During the temporary ramp closure, motorists will be detoured using northbound Northpoint Boulevard to westbound Eastern Avenue to southbound MD 151 and back to eastbound Eastern Avenue.

Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, September 19, SHA will close single lanes in both directions of MD 150 at the intersection with Rolling Mill Road for weekend concrete pavement work at two Maryland Transit Administration bus stops. Cones, barrels and construction signs will guide motorists through the work zone.  Bus riders will need to use the bus stops at 54th Street.  Entrances to Eastpoint Mall and driveways to nearby businesses will remain open during the weekend work. Concrete pavement work at the bus stops at 54th Street will take place on the next possible weekend. Crews will open all lanes by 5 a.m. Monday.

Citizens who have questions about highway construction on MD 150 or any other State highway in Baltimore or Harford counties may contact SHA’s District 4 Office – Construction Division at 410-229-2420, toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 or by e-mail: shadistrict4@sha.state.md.us. While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.  Drivers, passengers as well as workers are at risk. Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone!
