(October 20, 2014) – The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is resurfacing and making safety improvements on a section of MD 94 (Woodbine Road) near Lisbon in Howard County. Work began October 10 and will be completed later this fall, weather permitting.

The maintenance project covers about one mile of MD 94 from MD 144 (Frederick Road) south to Cattail River Drive The work will include milling (removing the top layer of pavement), paving, installing rumble strips, re-striping, and updating the guardrail in this area. SHA’s contractor for the $815,000 project is CJ Miller, LLC of Hampstead.

During working hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, motorists may encounter lane closures and flagging operations. SHA will use flaggers, arrow pannels, barrels, cones and signs to direct traffic through the work area.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
