Informational Workshop Scheduled for Thursday, October 23
WHAT:
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is hosting a public meeting to present information about an upcoming Community and Safety Enhancement Project on MD 144 (Main Street) in New Market.
WHEN:
Thursday, October 23, 2014, 7 to 9 p.m. (A presentation will begin at 7:15 p.m.)
WHERE:
New Market Elementary School – Cafeteria – 93 West Main Street, New Market, MD 21774
WHY:
SHA has completed the design phase for the MD 144 Community and Safety Enhancement Project in Historic New Market from west of Royal Oak Drive to Bye Alley. The construction phase of the project is scheduled to begin in November 2014 and should be completed by fall 2016. The project will improve the roadway and sidewalks, address drainage issues, and add decorative lighting to illuminate sidewalks and the roadway.
At the informational workshop on Thursday, displays will be available showing the planned roadway and sidewalk improvements, landscaping and pedestrian lighting, and detour routes. A presentation will begin at 7:15 p.m. SHA representatives will be available before and after the presentation to address project-related comments and concerns.
