What: The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) invites the public to an informational meeting about the US 220 Project Planning Study.

 

When: Wednesday, December 9 between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

 

Where: Bel Air Elementary School – Gymnasium, 14401 Barton Boulevard SW, Cumberland MD 21502

 

Information: The public meeting, originally scheduled for June, was postponed to allow the team to incorporate a strategy known as Practical Design to address transportation issues between I-68 and Cresaptown. Practical Design focuses on producing safe and efficient projects that address an area’s most important needs at a reasonable cost.

 

Before beginning more detailed work on potential alternatives, the project team wants public feedback to help them evaluate potential improvements to safety and traffic operations along this section of the US 220 corridor.
