(April 28, 2016)- The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) is progressing toward another phase of the MD 2 (Solomons Island Road) / Mt. Harmony Road intersection improvements. Crews will close access to Mount Harmony Road in Owings, and direct drivers to use Mount Harmony Lane (MD 765) to connect to MD 2 north and south of the intersection.

Flag persons will direct traffic starting at 8 p.m. on May 1; this overnight work is scheduled to finish by 5 a.m. This closure allows SHA to move traffic barrier to the southbound MD 2 side of the project.

The $3 million construction project is one of five locations along the MD 2 corridor in southern Anne Arundel and northern Calvert counties that adds dedicated left turn lanes for drivers. Those who have questions about this project may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 1-800-331-5603 or shadistrict5@sha.state.md.us
