SHA CLOSES THE NORTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO THE ICC TONIGHT FOR RESURFACING

Multiple Routes Impacted; Drivers Should Plan Ahead, Use Alternates

(October 27, 2016) – Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the northbound I-95 ramp to MD 200 (Intercounty Connector) in Prince George’s County for resurfacing.  All traffic lanes will reopen no later than 5 a.m. Friday

The ramp closure will also impact accessibility to the following roads from northbound I-95 via the Intercounty Connector:

• US 29 (Columbia Pike);
• I-270 (Eisenhower Highway);
• US 1 (Baltimore Avenue; and
• MD 198 (Sandy Spring Road)

Drivers should continue on northbound I-95 to MD 216 (Scaggsville Road), continue on westbound MD 216 and take the ramp to southbound I-95 to access exits 31, 32 or 33.  Motorists should plan extra travel time during the work.

Crews will return at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sunday and Monday to complete the ramp paving. All lanes will open by 5 a.m. Monday.
