(February 10, 2017) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close the ramp from eastbound Broken Land Parkway to northbound US 29 overnight between 8 p.m. Monday, February 20 and 5 a.m.Tuesday, February 21, weather permitting.

The temporary ramp closure is necessary for crews to install temporary barrier wall to create a safe space to work on the storm water management pond adjacent to the exit ramp. The barrier wall will remain in place for approximately two months. This work is part of the $32.7 million US 29 widening project being constructed by Allan Myers, Inc. of Fallston, MD.

To access northbound US 29, motorists will follow a signed detour route.  Motorists traveling on eastbound Broken Land Parkway should take the ramp to southbound US 29 and then exit at eastbound MD 32 where they can proceed through the interchange to access northbound US 29.

Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting www.md511.org for live traffic updates, including active construction lane closures. Those who have questions about SHA projects in Howard County may call the SHA District 7 Office at 301-624-8100, toll-free at 1-800-635-5119 or send email to shadistrict7@sha.state.md.us.
