Two Left Lanes to be Closed 12 Midnight

(October 11, 2018) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is performing emergency road work associated with a large hole on westbound MD 32 prior to MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) in Anne Arundel County.

The 8-by-8-foot hole has forced the closure of two left lanes on westbound MD 32 and this will last until 12 midnight. Motorists are encouraged to use MD 175 (Annapolis Road) or MD 198 (Laurel-Fort Meade Road) as alternate routes. Approximately 78,000 vehicles use this section of MD 32 each day, so motorists are encouraged to allow extra commute time.

While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
