(December 8, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will replace an underground drainage pipe along MD 408 (Mt Zion Marlboro Road) just south of Moreland Lane in Lothian, Anne Arundel County, tomorrow.

Starting at 8 a.m., MDOT SHA crews will temporarily close MD 408 in both directions at Moreland Lane to allow for the replacement. Motorists will be redirected to the signed detour that includes MD 408, MD 259 (Greenock Road), MD 258 (Bay Front Road) and MD 2 (Solomons Island Road).

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be complete by 4 p.m. Temporary traffic signs will guide motorists and inform residents of the closure. Local residential access will be maintained.
MDOT SHA’s contractor Brawner Builders will perform the work.

Customers who have questions about this improvement may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000, toll-free at 1-800-331-5603 or email shadistrict5@mdot.maryland.gov.,

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
