(March 22, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is beginning a project to improve a section of MD 60 (Leitersburg Pike) between MD 418 (Ringgold Pike) and the Pennsylvania state line in Ringgold on March 25. The work is expected to be complete by Memorial Day, weather permitting.

Crews will grind, patch, pave and restripe this section of Leitersburg Pike. Drivers can expect single-lane closures Mondays through Fridays 8a.m. - 3p.m.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, F.O. Day Company, Inc., of Rockville, will use variable message signs, cones, and flaggers to guide motorists through the work zone. The work is part of the areawide roadway maintenance in Washington county.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
