(April 16, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will improve the drainage on MD 77 (Foxville Road) in the Thurmont area of Frederick County on Wednesday, April 21. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will begin replacing a drainage pipe underneath the roadway, between Tippin Drive and Pryor Road. The work is expected to be complete by 5 p.m.

To perform the work safely, crews will temporarily close this section of MD 77 while work is underway. Motorists will be detoured using Tippin Drive to Gateway Drive and Pryor Road.

Electronic message boards, signs, cones and barrels will be in place to guide motorists through the detour route.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
