Week Ahead       

Baltimore County   

 
  • Northbound I-195 bridge over CSXT (north of US 1 interchange) - Installation of bridge shielding over rail tracks - Single right lane closure on northbound I-195 at the bridge between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays through late June, weather permitting.  The ramp from southbound and northbound US 1 to northbound I-195 will be open to traffic but narrowed with reflective barrels placed in the work zone. 
  • Eastbound I-695 (Inner Loop) between Providence Rd. and MD 41 (Perring Pkwy.) – Interstate highway paving - Overnight final pavement patching work with single and double lane closures at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. the next morning, Monday night, June 26 through Thursday night, June 29.     

Carroll County    

  • ​Springfield Ave (MD 851) between Spout Hill Road and Walnut Ave - Drainage improvement project – Single-lane closure during the work hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.     
  • MD 97 (New Washington Rd) between MD 26 (Liberty Rd) and the bridge over Morgan Run (south of Nicodemus Rd) - Highway Maintenance – Single-lane closure and flagging operation Sunday night through Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.     
   

Cecil County    

 

Frederick County    

  • I-70 between the Washington Co line and the Carroll Co line – Highway Bridge Maintenance - Single-lane closure to patch and resurface areas before and after all I-70 bridges. The schedule is Sunday night through Thursday night with the following hours:      
Westbound lanes: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.       
Eastbound lanes: 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.    
   

Garrett County        

  • ​MD 39 Oakland at the US 219 Intersection – Replacement of bridge deck – Temporary traffic signals in place on MD 39 – Detour – First Street Closed – motorists should continue to 2nd Street.            
  • US 219 (Garrett Highway) from Pysell Road to MD 42 (Friendsville Road) - Patching and resurfacing – Flagging operation will be in place – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday – Friday.
  • MD 42 at the bridge over Buffalo Run near Friendsville to the PA State Line – Ditch trimming, patch, mill and resurfacing work – Flagging operation will be in place – 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.  Monday - Friday.      
   
   

Harford County    

  • ​US 40 from MD 22 (Aberdeen Thruway) to Robinhood Rd. - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing -  Daytime lane closures and lane shifts 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late July.       
  • MD 152 (Fallston Road) from Pocock Road to MD 146 (Jarrettsville Pike) - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing -  Daytime lane closures, with flagging operations as needed, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late August.         
   

Howard County    

  • ​US 1 between Whiskey Bottom Rd and the bridge over Patuxent River, north of Gorman Rd – Highway maintenance patching - Single-lane closure Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.     
  • US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) between I-70 and Marriottsville Rd – Highway maintenance patching – Partial ramp closure on westbound US 40 for work. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

  • US 301 south from Hayden Clark Rd to MD 305 – Resurfacing - Single lane closures, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.                                                                      
 

Talbot County    

US 50 east from MD 404 to Longwoods Rd – Resurfacing - Overnight single lane closures, Sunday-Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Allegany County        

   
  • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 29 MD 546 to the Allegany County Line -  Lighting upgrades, traffic barrier installation and paving - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound. Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset -– through late summer.
  • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 64 MV Smith and Exit 68 Little Orleans– Resurfacing - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound.  Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset .      
  • MD 36 at the State Highway Salt Dome to the intersection of MD 36 and MD 135 near Westernport –Resurfacing - Flagging operation in place, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m..   
                                                                

Anne Arundel County    

   
  • Southbound I-97 between MD 450 and MD 178 – Pavement Resurfacing - Nighttime single lane closures, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.    
    

Baltimore County    

  • I-695 Transportation Systems Management Operations TSMO (I-70 to MD 43) - Starting Sunday, June 25 motorists can expect lane closures on I-695 in northwestern Baltimore County and on MD 122 (Security Blvd.) under I-695 through Friday morning, June 30.  The planned lane closure list can be found on the Project Portal page here beneath the Planned Lane Closure Schedule for Week of June 25 - 30, 2023 heading.      
Note: Concurrent with SHA work on MD 122, BGE is nearing completion of its underground electric line reliability project 24/7 on eastbound MD 122 on the approach to the right-turn ramp to southbound I-695 (outer loop) in late June.   
   
  • I-95/I-695 Southwest Interchange – 10 Bridges Rehabilitation -  Starting Sunday, June 25, motorists can expect ramp and lane closures within the I-95/I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) interchange in southwestern Baltimore County. The closures are planned through Friday, June 30, and are required as part of the ongoing rehabilitation project for 10 bridges within the interchange. Baltimore County/Harford County Line    

US 40 (Pulaski Highway) eastbound and westbound bridges over Gunpowder Falls and Little Gunpowder Falls 

  • Temporary lane closures on eastbound and westbound US 40 at any time for final work at four bridge approaches (resurfacing and new pavement markings)    
  • Concrete pavement replacement work on approach to intersection of westbound US 40 and Joppa Farm Rd. in Harford Co. to be rescheduled to begin early July 2023 (dates pending).     
    

Calvert County  

  • MD 506 between MD 508 and MD 4 – Roadway Resurfacing – Daytime single lane closures with a flagging operation   
  

Harford County      

  • MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek – Bridge side barrier replacement –This bridge will be reduced from two lanes to one lane 24/7 during bridge rehabilitation work through late fall 2023. A temporary traffic control system will direct two-way traffic on one lane of the bridge.    
  • MD 7 (Philadelphia Rd.) between Holly Oak Circle and South Stepney Road – Rehabilitation of Bridge over Grays Run – Single-lane closure with flagging operations to control two-way traffic weekdays 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., and overnight, Sunday – Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, through late summer 2023.

Prince George’s County                 

   
  • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) College Avenue to MD 193 (University Boulevard) - US 1 Reconstruction Project - Corridor Improvement - Northbound and southbound single lane closures throughout the length of the project Saturday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. through late summer 2023.                            
  • US 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) from Charles Armentrout Drive to Farragut Street. Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2023.                 
  • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive - Sidewalk construction project - Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.                                
  • MD 500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street​) - Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
     

Washington County    

  • ​I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill - Paving operation - Right and Left Lane Closures Mon-Thursday, 7am-5pm, to install traffic barrier and 3pm-5am.
  • I-70 at the MD 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) eastbound and westbound – Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I-70 bridges over MD 65 –   Motorists should expect periodic shoulder work and occasional lane closures.            
            
I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill - Paving operation - Right and Left Lane Closures Mon-Thurs 7am-5pm to install traffic barrier and 3 p.m.-5 a.m.       
   
I-70 from Pennsylvania Line to Frederick County Line – Crack sealing - Intermittent single lane closures 8pm-5am, Sunday-Thursday through June 30.
