(March 5, 2014) – MD 108 (Ashton Road/Clarksville Pike) will be reduced to a single lane at the Howard-Montgomery county line east of Olney beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, March 7 for repairs to the bridge over the Patuxent River. A flagging operation will remain in place throughout the weekend until the repairs are complete or no later than 5 a.m. Monday, March 10.

The lane reduction will allow crews to complete repairs to the concrete bridge wall that encloses the area between the roadway and the arch of the bridge. Repairs were completed to the wall on one side of the bridge the weekend of January 31and weather permitting, crews are returning this weekend to complete the repairs on the other side.

While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
