UPDATE: Work cancelled for this weekend due to weather.

(September 5, 2014) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close one right lane in each direction along MD 150 (Eastern Avenue) at Rolling Mill Road adjacent to the Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk. The temporary lane closures will enable SHA’s contractor to repair the concrete pavement at the intersection. Crews will close the lanes beginning 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 and will reopen all lanes by 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8. The work is dependent on weather conditions.

Two Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus stops on Eastern Avenue at Rolling Mill Road also will be closed for the weekend. Bus riders may use the bus stops at 54th Street to travel to and from Eastpoint Mall and other destinations between Rolling Mill Road and 54th Street.  For more information, transit riders should call 410-539-5000.

This work is part of SHA’s $3.6 million project to resurface and improve Eastern Avenue from MD 151 (North Point Boulevard) to Diamond Point Road. Click here for more project information.  The project began in July and will be complete spring 2015.

SHA advises both drivers and transit users to allow extra travel time. SHA appreciates motorists’ and bus riders’ patience as the agency works to improve the ride quality of the pavement and accommodate the weight of the heavy buses that travel the corridor.

SHA’s contractor for the project is Daisy Concrete, Inc. of Newport, Del. Citizens who have questions about highway construction on MD 150 or any other State highway in Baltimore or Harford counties may contact SHA’s District 4 Office – Construction Division at 410-229-2420, toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 or by e-mail: shadistrict4@sha.state.md.us.  For the latest traffic information, log onto www.md511.org.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Drivers, passengers as well as workers are at risk. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For Everyone!
