(November 29, 2019) – On Wednesday, December 4, Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will temporarily close the southern median crossover on MD 3 (Crain Highway) south of Forest Drive/Columbian Way in Bowie. Motorists will be diverted to the northern crossover at MD 3/Forest Drive intersection. The southern crossover will reopen summer 2020.

This closure is needed so crews can widen the median shoulder along southbound MD 3 and the crossover. Crews will also work on stormwater management systems in the project area.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our contractors. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on the road and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
