(March 19, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is improving the road surface on a section of MD 418 (Ringgold Pike) in Washington County. Crews are patching, milling and paving the roadway between MD 64 (Smithsburg Pike) and MD 60 (Leitersburg Pike). The work is expected to take about three weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect flagging operations weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. MDOT SHA contractor, C. William Hetzer, Inc. of Hagerstown, is performing the work.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
