SHA Hosting Community Meeting on MD 157 (Merritt Blvd.) Project Nov. 28 at North Point Library

WHAT:
Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) staff will host a community meeting to provide information about SHA’s upcoming project to improve safety and ride quality on MD 157 (Merritt Boulevard) from Peninsula Expressway to Wise Avenue in Dundalk, Baltimore County.

WHEN:
Wednesday, November 28, 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

WHERE:
North Point Branch - Baltimore County Public Library
1716 Merritt Boulevard, Dundalk, MD 21222 (Corner of Merritt Boulevard at Holabird Avenue)
The presentation will be held in the library’s Meeting Room.

WHY:
The purpose of the meeting  is to provide an update to the community on the MD 157 (Merritt Boulevard) safety and resurfacing project from Peninsula Expressway to Wise Avenue.

The MD 157 improvement project consists of pavement patching, pavement resurfacing, drainage improvements, new curb and gutter, new sidewalk with ADA upgrades, traffic signal upgrades, median improvements and minor landscaping.

The project is in the final design stage, with construction anticipated  to begin late spring 2013. All major work will be completed within existing SHA right of way.  Some properties will be temporarily affected by minor roadwork such as grading and constructing sidewalk, curb or driveway tie-ins.
SHA’s design team will give a brief project presentation and will be available to answer questions.

For more information about the SHA project prior to the meeting, please contact Mr. Ed Bokman, Chief, Engineering Systems Design Team, by phone at 410-229-2323, toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 or e-mail at ebokman@sha.state.md.us.  For those who wish to attend the meeting, but will need special accommodations or translations, please contact Mr. Bokman. Maryland Relay Service is available by dialing 7-1-1.
