“Welcome to the MDOT Family” Display Features Information on Services and Commitment to Safety and Innovation

(August 25, 2017) – Come visit the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) family at the 136th Maryland State Fair at the Timonium Fairgrounds, today through Labor Day, September 5.

Discover the various ways MDOT connects Marylanders to life’s opportunities. The MDOT display in the Exhibition Hall features key information from the MDOT Secretary’s Office, Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA), Maryland Port Administration (MDOT MPA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), Maryland Aviation Administration (MDOT MAA), and State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA). Parked outside the Farm and Garden building, you can find the MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) newly-designed mobile bus, offering “A New Way to MVA.”

Stop by the exhibit to pick up MDOT’s Official Highway Map or a new CityLink bus schedule, and get information about E-ZPass, the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore, and life-saving traffic safety tips.

“The Maryland State Fair provides the perfect opportunity to interact directly with our customers and bring MDOT services directly to them,” said Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn.

Learn about the online MDOT One Stop Shop transportation portal through which you can purchase bus passes and the Charm Card, check flight schedules at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, and secure commercial hauling permits and driver registration and licensing services.

With the largest construction season in history underway, visit the work zone safety display and learn how drivers can partner to keep workers, other drivers and car passengers safe. Also, with schools opening soon, you can revisit the rules of the road whether walking, driving or biking to keep our youngest commuters – kids – safe.

In need of an MDOT MVA service? At the Mobile Bus, visitors can:

• Renew, duplicate, and correct a Maryland vehicle registration, driver’s license, commercial driver’s license, or identification card;
• Obtain a certified copy of a driving record;
• Obtain disability placards/plates;
• Return tags and apply for a tag refund;
• Apply for a change of address card; and
• Register to vote; among other things.
The MDOT family looks forward to seeing you at the Maryland State Fair during the 10 most fun days of summer!
