Work to be Completed between Sunday Night and Monday Morning; Motorists Should Reduce Speed, Allow Extra Travel Time
(July 21, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform work between Sunday night, July 24, and Monday morning, July 25, to replace a deteriorated crossroad pipe under MD 404 (Shore Highway), just west of the MD 16 (Greenwood Road) intersection near the Delaware line.
The overnight work will begin at 9 p.m. Sunday and is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be maintained via a single-lane flagging operation. Motorists are urged to reduce speed and allow extra travel time. MDOT SHA’s crews and contractor, David A. Bramble of Chestertown, will perform the work.
Following the pipe replacement, the contractor will continue the 4.3-mile MD 404 resurfacing project that began in early July. Crews are milling and paving MD 404 from MD 16 near Denton (Harmony Road) to just west of the Delaware line. Overnight work hours for this project are 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Work start times may be delayed as needed to minimize impacts during peak travel periods. Completion is expected by mid-August.
