(MDOT SHA photo: MDOT SHA Logo)(June 30, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is rehabilitating the Cove Road bridge over MD 695 (Baltimore Beltway/ Patapsco Freeway) in southeastern Baltimore County. The $4-million project is expected to be complete by fall 2021. MDOT SHA contractor Concrete General Inc. of Gaithersburg, will perform the work, which includes removal and replacement of the bridge deck (riding surface); cleaning and painting of structural steel; and repairing sections of steel beams. Learn more about the project HERE. There will be daytime single lane closures in both directions Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and overnight lane closures Sunday – Thursday between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day on both the Baltimore Beltway and Cove Road. MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
