(September 24, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has begun a $301,000 resurfacing project on southbound I-270 from Middlebrook Road to MD 118 (Germantown Road). The work should be complete by late fall 2020.

Crews will remove and replace the top layer of asphalt and apply new pavement markings. To complete all phases of work, crews are permitted to close single and multiple lanes within the project limits overnight, Sunday through Thursday, between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Additional work hours and lane closures may be necessary to expedite this project and keep it on schedule. MDOT SHA’s contractor for the work is Allan Myers of Fallston.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on the road and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
