(October 16, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will repair and extend an underground drainage pipe on MD 355 (Urbana Pike) in Frederick County on Sunday, Oct. 18. Starting at 6:30 a.m., MDOT SHA crews will close MD 355 between Ball Road and Reels Mill Road. Repairs are expected to be complete by 4 p.m. the same day.

Motorists on MD 355 will be detoured using Araby Church Road. MDOT SHA will use signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closure and guide them through the detour.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
