Daytime Work Begins Wednesday to Resurface Three Miles of Roadway

(September 14, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is beginning work this week to improve the roadway surface on MD 624 (Graceton Road) between MD 165 (Pylesville Road) and the Maryland/Pennsylvania state line in northern Harford County.

The $879,000 highway maintenance resurfacing project will begin 9 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, and will continue through mid-October, weather permitting. Contractor crews will work during the day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with temporary lane closures and flagging operations in effect to maintain two-way traffic on MD 624. Crews may also work 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays when necessary.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, Allan Myers - MD Inc. of Fallston, will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists about the work zone.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists can dial #77 or 911 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
