Work will Replace Underground Pipe

(September 20, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin work Tuesday, September 21, on a drainage improvement project that will replace a pipe beneath MD 103 (Meadowridge Road) at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard in the Elkridge area of Howard County.

Beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, MDOT SHA crews will close the intersection to remove and replace the pipe. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. the next day, Wednesday, September 22.

Motorists on eastbound MD 103 will be detoured using Business Parkway to US 1, then return to MD 103. Motorists on US 1 destined for westbound MD 103 will be directed to use Business Parkway to access MD 103 past the Roosevelt Boulevard intersection. MDOT SHA will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists about the work zone, road closure and detour.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
