Crews to Remove Tree Limbs, Other Large Debris from Recent Storms
(October 12, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will remove a large build-up of debris under the MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) bridge over Bynum Run in Harford County on Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, contractor crews will use a crane to pull tree limbs and other large debris from Bynum Run in the vicinity of the bridge. The size of the crane will require crews to temporarily close the bridge, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., both days, while the work is underway. The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
Through travelers and truck operators on MD 7 between MD 136 (Calvary Road) and MD 24 (Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway) will be diverted to US 40 (Pulaski Highway) while the work is being done. MD 7 will be open to local traffic only for residents and businesses on either side of the bridge over Bynum Run, however, no access across the bridge will be permitted during the temporary daytime closures.
In the event of inclement weather, the temporary bridge closure and debris removal work will take place on the next possible weekday.
