Daytime Single-Lane and Shoulder Closures Required Through Spring 2023
(August 17, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) crews will begin a project Monday, August 22, to perform preventive bridge maintenance on the southbound I-95 bridge over I-495 (Capital Beltway) near College Park in Prince George’s County.
The project will require closure of the left lane and shoulder on the southbound I-95 bridge during off-peak hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, starting August 22 and continuing through late spring 2023, weather permitting.
Crews will perform bridge maintenance including installing retrofits and drainage troughs, joint sealing, column wrapping and epoxy application work.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
