Lane Closures, Flagging Operations Scheduled Through Late June

(May 25, 2023) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a project Tuesday, May 30, to resurface MD 23 (Norrisville Road) between MD 146 (Jarrettsville Pike/Madonna Road) and MD 439 (Old York Road) in White Hall. The pavement improvement project should be complete by late June, weather permitting.

The work includes milling, paving, and restriping. Drivers can expect single-lane closures guided by a flagging operation on MD 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and overnights, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. The $760,000 project is being performed by contractor Allan Myers – MD Inc., of Fallston.

The State Highway Administration understands lane closures and detours can be an inconvenience, but the work is needed to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, stay focused, slow down, and look ahead for temporary lane closures and flagging operations to control two-way traffic flow.

Customers with questions about the MD 23 resurfacing project or other highway maintenance work on state-maintained roads in Harford County may call the State Highway Administration District 4 Office Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
