Weekend 

Baltimore County 

  • MD 151B (Wharf Rd.) south of MD 158 (Bethlehem Blvd.) Detour – Private Developer Intersection Work – As of Monday June 5, Wharf Rd. south of MD 158 is closed to all traffic 24/7 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 13.  This temporary road closure is required for Tradepoint Atlantic to perform traffic signal equipment replacement and concrete median work at the MD 158/Wharf Rd. intersection.  MD 158 will remain open to all traffic throughout the weekend.  All traffic going to the complex will be directed to use MD 151 (North Point Blvd./Sparrows Point Blvd.) to reach the southern access points to the complex.    

Howard County 

  • I-95 at MD 103 (Meadowridge Rd) - BGE utility work – On Sunday, June 11, shoulder work with occasional traffic stoppages on all travel lanes in both directions to connect overhead utility lines across I-95. Schedule is 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.  

Week Ahead     

Anne Arundel County  

  • MD 175 / MD 32 Interchange – Ramp Resurfacing – Nighttime ramp closures with a signed detour, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights through late June. 


Baltimore County 

  • I-795 between Cockeys Mill Rd. Bridge and MD 140, and on MD 140 from I-795 to Carroll Co. Line – Surface Abrasion Treatment – Overnight lane closures on northbound and southbound I-795 and MD 140 begin Sunday night June 11 through Thursday, June 23. Temporary lane closures and traffic drags between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, and will continue weeknights through Friday morning, June 23. Maryland State Police will escort the specialized equipment each night as it moves slowly along I-795 and MD 140.   
  • Northbound I-195 bridge over CSXT (north of US 1 interchange) - Installation of bridge shielding over rail tracks - Single right lane closure on northbound I-195 at the bridge between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays (Monday through Friday) beginning June 12 through late June, weather permitting.  The ramp from southbound and northbound US 1 to northbound I-195 will be open to traffic but narrowed with reflective barrels placed in the work zone.      
 

Carroll County  

  • Springfield Ave (MD 851) between Spout Hill Road and Walnut Ave - Drainage improvement project – Single-lane closure during the work hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.       
  • MD 97 (New Washington Rd) between MD 26 (Liberty Rd) and the bridge over Morgan Run (south of Nicodemus Rd) - Highway Maintenance – Single-lane closure and flagging operation Sunday night through Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.   

Cecil County  

  

Frederick County  

  • I-70 between the Washington Co line and the Carroll Co line – Highway Bridge Maintenance - Single-lane closure to patch and resurface areas before and after all I-70 bridges. The schedule is Sunday night through Thursday night with the following hours:    
    • Westbound lanes: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.     
    • Eastbound lanes: 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.  
 

Garrett County      

  • ​MD 39 Oakland at the US 219 Intersection – Replacement of bridge deck – Temporary   traffic signals in place on MD 39 – Detour – First Street Closed – motorists should continue to 2nd street.          
  • US 219 (Garrett Highway) from Pysell Road to MD 42 (Friendsville Road) - Patching and resurfacing – Flagging operation will be in place – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday – Friday.  
  • MD 42 at the bridge over Buffalo Run near Friendsville to the PA State Line – Ditch trimming, patch, mill and resurfacing – Flagging operation will be in place – 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.  Monday - Friday.    
 

Harford County  

  • ​US 40 from MD 22 (Aberdeen Thruway) to Robinhood Rd. - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing.  Daytime lane closures and lane shifts 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late June.     
  • MD 24 (Rocks Rd.) from Ferncliffe Lane to Cherry Hill Rd. - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing.  Daytime lane closures, with flagging operations as needed, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late June.    
 

Howard County  

  • US 1 between Whiskey Bottom Rd and the bridge over Patuxent River, north of Gorman Rd – Highway maintenance patching - Single-lane closure Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.   
  • US 40 (Baltimore Natl Pike) between I-70 and Marriottsville Rd – Highway maintenance patching – Partial ramp closure for work starting Sunday, June 11. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

  • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 29 MD 546 to the Allegany County Line - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound. Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset - lighting upgrades, traffic barrier installation and paving – through late summer.    
  • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 64 MV Smith and Exit 68 Little Orleans– Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound.  Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset – resurfacing project.    
  • MD 36 at the State Highway Salt Dome to the intersection of MD 36 and MD 135 near Westernport – Flagging operation in place, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. for a resurfacing project. 
                                                              

Anne Arundel County  

 
  • I-97 between MD 450 and MD 178 – Pavement Resurfacing - Nighttime single lane closures, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.  
  

Baltimore County  ​​

Daytime Lane Closures:   
  • MD 122 (Security Boulevard) under I-695 bridge: Daytime intermittent single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound Security Boulevard will occur to allow for the contractor team’s installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems hardware.   The closures will last for up to 15 minutes at any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16.  
 
Note: Concurrent with this project, BGE is continuing its underground electric line reliability project 24/7 on eastbound MD 122 on the approach to the right-turn ramp to southbound I-695 (outer loop) through late June.    
 
Overnight Lane Closures:   
 
  • Northbound and Southbound I-695 (inner and outer loops) from I-70 to MD 139 (Charles Street): Overnight double left or double right lane closures will occur for barrier wall removal or installation by the contractor team between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday, June 11, through Thursday, June 15 
 
Overnight Lane Closures:   
  • Southbound I-95 at I-695: Overnight single-lane closures at 7 p.m., followed by double left-lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday, June 11-15.   
Overnight Ramp Closures:  
  • ​Ramp from eastbound I-695 (outer loop) to northbound I-95: Closure and detour overnight, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday, June 11-15. A detour will direct motorists to exit onto Hollins Ferry Road, go through interchange to westbound I-695 (inner loop) and then take westbound I-695 to northbound I-95.    
  • Ramp from southbound I-95 SB to eastbound I-695 (outer loop): Closure and detour overnight, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday, June 11-15. A detour will direct motorists to exit onto Caton Avenue, proceed on southbound Caton Avenue, stay right to southbound US 1 Alt (Washington Boulevard), then take eastbound I-695 (outer loop).  
 
Daytime Lane Closures:   
  • Sulphur Spring Road under I-95: Lane shifts and/or lane closures with flagging operations to control two-way traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 12-16.         

Baltimore County/Harford County Line  

  • US 40 (Pulaski Highway) EB and WB Bridges over Gunpowder Falls (Baltimore Co.) and Little Gunpowder Falls (Baltimore/Harford Co. Line).  
  • Temporary lane closures on eastbound and westbound US 40 at any time for final work at four bridge approaches (resurfacing and new pavement markings).
  • Concrete pavement replacement work on approach to intersection of westbound US 40 and Joppa Farm Rd. in Harford Co. to be rescheduled summer 2023   
  

Harford County    

  • MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek – Bridge side barrier replacement –This bridge will be reduced from two lanes to one lane 24/7 during bridge rehabilitation work through late fall 2023. A temporary traffic control system will direct two-way traffic on one lane of the bridge.  
  

Washington County  

  • I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill - Right and Left Lane Closures Mon-Thursday, 7am-5pm, to install traffic barrier and 3pm-5am for paving operations.  
  • I-70 at the MD 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) eastbound and westbound – Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I-70 bridges over MD 65 –   Motorists should expect periodic shoulder work and occasional lane closures.          
  • I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill - Right and Left Lane Closures Mon-Thurs 7am-5pm to install traffic barrier and 3:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m. for paving operations.     
  • I-70 from Pennsylvania Line to Frederick County Line – crack sealing, intermittent single lane closures 8pm-5am, Sunday-Thursday through June 30.
