​New Traffic Pattern to Improve Safety for Motorists, Pedestrians in Cambridge 

(April 2, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration, in partnership with Dorchester County and the City of Cambridge, will change the traffic pattern along MD 343 (Washington Street) at Maces Lane/Rigby Avenue​ in Cambridge tomorrow, April 3. This new traffic pattern will enhance safety and traffic operations at the intersection.           

Currently, traffic is stopped at Maces Lane and Rigby Avenue, with through traffic operations on Washington Street. The new traffic pattern will employ an all-way stop and will include new stop signs and stop bars on MD 343. Variable message signs have been placed in advance of the intersection to alert motorists to the new traffic patterns. 

The State Highway Administration encourages motorists and pedestrians to stay alert for this new traffic pattern in the City of Cambridge.
