Work Requires a Single-Lane Closure with a Flagging Operation; Motorists Should Expect Travel Delays

(November 27, 2024) – The State Highway Administration will perform maintenance work on abutment seals on the MD 26 (Liberty Road) bridge over the Liberty Reservoir in Carroll County, near the Baltimore County line.

Starting Monday, December 9 at 9 a.m., crews will close one lane on the bridge so they can safely make repairs. A flagging operation will maintain two-way travel across the bridge during the work hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The project is expected to take one week to complete. Motorists should expect delays and allot extra travel time or seek an alternative route during work hours.

The State Highway Administration will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to notify motorists about the work zone and lane closure.
